Adam Rebora, Director, Writer, Producer
The idea for Infernal Beeping came together after an incident where my neighbors refused to change their smoke alarm battery. I used my frustration with the constant beeping in a more constructive way and wrote a dramatic comedy about a man, a smoke alarm, and his strange dreams. Thankfully, my team at Film in a Bag Productions enjoyed my silly poetry and we jumped into a truly exciting production. A big piece of the film was to keep it all in one room, which meant all seven of us, and cat named Guillermo, were crammed in my bedroom to bring this gothic film to life.
Teresa Martinez Moore, Voice Over Director
When approaching voiceover in Infernal Beeping, which relies heavily on voice acting, I worked with our actor, Carson Fox Harvey, to match the tone and style of the intended project. In this case, writer and director, Adam Rebora, created a complex script in the style of Edgar Allan Poe. To achieve a modern inner monologue that nodded to the Poe inspiration, I worked with Carson to add nuance to his read and had him play with his vocal rhythms, volumes, and emotions to highlight the darkness and the lightness of his character’s plight. Carson was able to bring his lived experiences to his performance, and when coupled with the images on-screen, worked to amplify his dark (and amusing) torment.
